Buff’s Meaty Goodies looking to score big at Food Truck Warz
Introducing “Buff’s Meaty Goodies”, a food truck serving – you guessed it – meat inspired dishes for the hungry food truck connoisseur. While new to the food truck scene, the truck will have no shortage of hungry fans lining up to try their signature burger made with Buff’s homemade sausage patty and cheese.
Other menu items include a schnitzel sandwich (pork schnitzel pressed sandwich with cheese, mushrooms & special sauce), a Sam Sandwich (pork and ham pressed sandwich with pickles, cheese and mustard), BBQ pork bun, and mini corn dogs.
Sure to fill your belly, Buff’s Meaty Goodies will me making their first appearance at Brandon’s Food Truck Warz this September 13-15.



KYU Grill returning to Food Truck Warz in 2019
BDNMB.CA is extremely pleased to announce that KYU Grill will be returning to Food Truck Warz this year. They had some insanely long lineups at our first event in 2017, something they will be looking to repeat in 2019. In Winnipeg they have been named Winners of Food Truck Wars: People’s Choice Award four years in a row (2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018). They have also won the award for Best Presentation twice (2016 & 2018).
KYU Grill is known in Winnipeg as the home of the HEROSHIMA, an original grilled-skewer sandwich served on a sweet bun with Japanese inspired sauces and toppings. Popular menu items include the “Noriyka” (pork skewer, teriyaki sauce, and toasted nori) and the “Spicy Mayo” (chicken skewer, spicy mayo, tempura crumbs & sriracha).

Hot off the grill, fresh Tex-Mex food coming to Brandon’s Food Truck Warz
Dorado Street Tortilla & Curbside Catering will be competing for the first time at Food Truck Warz in 2019. The extremely popular Winnipeg food truck will be serving some of your favorite Tex-Mex dishes showcasing hand made tortillas and a full line up of scratch made meats, toppings and sauces. Choose from a variety of burritos, quesadillas, salads, fries and more.
Among the featured menu items is the Tex-Mex salad comprised of classic salad fixings with their own cumin vinaigrette, topped with house made tortilla chips. The rest of the toppings are up to you. Load it up with chicken, tons of veggies and their fresh taco sauce.
With fresh and flavorful ingredients Dorado Street Tortilla & Curbside Catering is sure to tickle the tastebuds of foodies and Tex Mex lovers alike.

Grab a sweet treat at this year’s Food Truck Warz
Food Truck Warz is extremely happy to announce that a BeaverTails Food Truck will be attending their event in 2019. “We had some requests for additional dessert options and BeaverTails will definitely help fill that void” said event organizers.
BeaverTails are deliciously addictive, whole-wheat Canadian pastries served piping’ hot with your choice of delectable toppings. They are hand-stretched to resemble the tail of a beaver. Delicious options include the classic “Cinnamon and Sugar” and the “Triple Trip” which is topped with a chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut butter, and Reese’s Pieces®.
In addition to the popular pastry, they also serve a variety of signature beverages including a Frosty and creamy orange-vanilla frappé, smoothies and hot chocolate.

Wings-N-Fries to take flight at Brandon’s Food Truck Warz
Wings-N-Fries is the premiere food truck in Manitoba for all things chicken wings! Chicken wings come in two different sizes (7 wings, 14 wings) with flavours like Salt & Pepper, Sweet Chili, Chipotle, Maple Bacon, Sriracha, and Electric Honey. Heat seekers will love Firehall #1, the hottest wing flavour on the menu. A selection of dipping sauces are also available. In addition to the variety of wings offered they also serve fries, poutine, and spicy mayo fries.
Wings-N-Fries will be making their second appearance at Brandon’s Food Truck Warz. Check them out all three days (September 13-15) at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre.


BBK’s serving up amazing BBQ from a food truck
A perennial favourite during Food Truck Wars at ManyFest in Winnipeg, BBK’s BBQ will be making their fist appearance at Brandon’s Food Truck Warz in 2019. In operation since 2005,they use apple wood to smoke their meats in serving up some tasty, mouthwatering beef brisket, pulled pork, beef on a bun, and burgers. Combo plates are available with traditional BBQ sides like sweet baked beans, coleslaw, and sweet potatoe fries. They took home the Peoples Choice award at ManyFest in 2018 for “Best Bang for you Buck”. The melt-in-your-mouth tender beef brisket and slow smoked and hand pulled pork sandwiches will have hungry patrons lined up looking for more.





Food Truck Warz welcomes food truck serving authentic African food
Making their debut at Brandon’s Food Truck Warz in 2019 is the Simba Safai Grill who specialize in African-inspired dishes. Their African dishes are made with authentic Kenyan and African spices and seasonings. The seasonings are not spicy in taste, but in flavor. Simba Safari Grill participates in many fairs and festivals within and outside of Manitoba including Folk Fest (Winnipeg), Osborne Village Canada Day Street Celebration (Winnipeg), and Manyfest (Winnipeg). They are also the 2016 Food Truck Wars winner in Winnipeg for “best bang for your buck.”
You will love the flavorful menu items you will find at Simba Safari Grill. The mouth watering Serengeti Chicken (Chicken marinated with authentic African spices then simmered) and the MOKIMO (Mashed Potatoes, Peas and Corn seasoned with herbs) will have you lining up for more. This truck offers a wide array of gluten free and vegetarian dishes as well.

Local organizations to raise funds/awareness at Food Truck Warz
Food Truck Warz is a FREE fun event where people can come together and enjoy amazing food, midway rides, and shop at a local Made In Manitoba market. The event, now in its third year, has quickly become one of Brandon’s most highly anticipated and well-attended annual events.
In addition to all the fun and excitement, the event also helps to benefit several charity and not for profit initiatives in the process. Four local organizations will have the opportunity to raise both funds and awareness at this year’s event including Pawsitive Communities (merchandise), Habitat for Humanity (beer garden), and Westman Dreams for Kids (50/50). The John Howard Society of Brandon will be managing the parking at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre over the weekend. Parking is only $2 per car, per day. All funds raised from parking goes directly to the John Howard Society of Brandon.
“Food Truck Warz and bdnmb.ca are locally owned and operated businesses and we’re always looking for new ways to help support the community” said co-event organizer Darryl Wolski. “Incorporating these organizations into the weekends activities is just one small way we can give back” added Wolski.
The Onion Factory, finger food meant for sharing
Chef Derek Collins is bringing his Onion Factory Food Trailer to Brandon’s Food Truck Warz this September 13-14-15. The truck specializes in serving Blooming Onions, a dish consisting of one large onion which is cut to resemble a flower, battered, and deep-fried. They are cooked to perfection and the portions are very generous. The individual pieces are like onion rings, crispy outside and tangy and sweet inside. Derek offers a variety of different options including the All Beef Onion which is garnished with sirloin steak chunks and served with a horseradish aioli. A new menu item this year is The Mighty Zeus consisting of a Blooming Onion garnished with diced cucumber, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, black olives and tossed in a signature Greek dressing. The onion is then topped with feta cheese and tzatziki sauce.
The Onion Factory is just one of twenty-six food trucks from around the province who will be serving up some delicious curbside eats at this year’s event. It all gets underway Friday, September 13 at 5pm. The official Facebook event page can be found here.

Voting for your favorite food truck in 2019
Food Truck Warz is Brandon’s largest food truck event bringing together the best food trucks from across the province. Twenty-six different food trucks will converge at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre on September 13-15. The public is invited to come downtown and experience the delicious food creations being served by the many different culinary experts. Along with showcasing delectable curbside cuisine, bdnmb.ca will be handing out an award to recognize the public’s favorite truck.
Please remember to cast your vote for your favorite food truck. It should be noted that Smoked & Sauced Mobile BBQ is returning in 2018 to reclaim their title.
Voting will take place at the Westman Communications Group Event Tent on the festival site.

Grey Ridge Coffee serving up hot coffee, iced coffee, hot chocolate & more
Grey Ridge Coffee was established in 2019. The Brandon based business sells fresh, locally roasted Coffee and coffee beans. They have fair trade organic beans as well as regular roast beans, 9 different roasts in total.
At this year’s Food Truck Warz event, the will be selling hot coffee in a medium, dark and decaf roasts. They will also be selling iced coffee, hot chocolate, 3 kinds of tea, various cold drinks, and homemade baked goods. This summer they have appeared at many events in Brandon and area including the Brandon Kite Festival, The Portage Potato Festival, and the Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival.

Select Shows Midway is coming to Brandon to be a part of the 3rd annual Food Truck Warz event. They will be set up in the parking lot at the Riverbank Discovery Centre on September 13-15. Gramma’s Kettle Corn is a family run business, providing customers with an exceptional product, and great service. Their kettle korn is the biggest, roundest, crispiest, lightest, tastiest kettle korn around and contains no artificial additives or preservatives. It is also cholesterol free. They use quality ingredients (gourmet popping corn, canola oil, sugar and popping salt) which is popped in a stainless steel kettle at very high heat to allow for popping perfection. The popcorn is then stirred by hand prior to being bagged, sifted and dusted right in front of the customer. The smell of freshly popped kettle korn in a visible bag will keep customers coming back for more.

Joe Beeverz Rolls Out Buffalo Chicken Nachos, 2-foot hot dog for Food Truck Warz
Joe Beeverz is once again putting together a special carnival themed menu for those attending Food Truck Warz at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre. One of the featured items will include the Buffalo Chicken Nachos (pictured above) comprised of crispy tri-colored nachos loaded with cheese sauce, diced tomatoes, buffalo chicken, green onions, and drizzled with ranch. These hearty, crowd-pleasing nachos are bursting with flavor and so big that you will need a handle to carry them.
They will also be selling a 2-foot hot dog-The Prairie Dog. Certain to be the talk of the town, it can be best described as two glorious feet of hot dog topped with cheese sauce, chopped perogies, sauteed onions, and chopped bacon.
Lobster poutine will also be making an appearance this year.
